Warranty Made Easy at Marine Deals

At Marine Deals, we're all about quality gear. This warranty policy is here to make sure you're happy with your purchase.

Your Rights

The New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act gives you some solid rights. When you buy from Marine Deals, you can expect your gear to:

  • Be in good nick
  • Do what it's supposed to
  • Match the description
  • Be free of faults

If it doesn't measure up, you can get it fixed, replaced, or get your money back.

Supplier Warranty

In addition to your consumer rights, most of our products come with a manufacturer's warranty. These warranties can be different depending on the product, so check the paperwork or give us a shout if you're unsure.

Making a Claim

Think something's faulty or not right? Let us know ASAP. We'll look into it and determine if it's a valid claim.

Returns and Replacements

Need to return something or get a replacement? The quickest way is to lodge a request with us online. We'll check our records and get back to you pronto.

Remedies: The Nitty Gritty

  • Within three months of purchase: If something's faulty, you can usually choose a refund, replacement, or repair.
  • After three months: We'll try to fix it first rather than offer a refund or replacement. This is how the Consumer Guarantees Act works, and it's better for the environment too.

Returning Goods for a Check

If we need to have a look at the item before sorting out a warranty claim, we'll cover the return shipping. But if we find there's no fault, we might have to charge you for the return shipping.

In-Store Returns

You're welcome to bring items back to the store. We can sometimes sort things out straight away, but we have a smaller team on weekends, and if we need to contact the supplier, or investigate a little more, it might take a day or so.

Check Your Gear When It Arrives

When your gear arrives, give it a good once-over to check for damage. If you spot anything, let us know within seven days. After that, we might understandably think the damage happened after delivery, which could affect your warranty claim.

Important Things to Remember

  • This warranty policy doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
  • Keep your proof of purchase – you'll need it for any warranty claim.
  • We might need to inspect the product before accepting a warranty claim.
  • The warranty doesn't cover damage from misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear.

We appreciate your business and want you to have a top-notch shopping experience.
